Deep tissue massage targets the superficial and deep soft tissue layers such as muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and circulatory tissues. Deep tissue massage is not about the pressure being used but rather the structures targeted in this type of massage. Clients involved in physical activity, sustained injuries, and chronic pain may benefit from a deeper treatment.
