The White Birch Massage Therapy and Wellness was lovingly established in September 2013 by RMT, Merissa Mason. Our vision has always centred around creating a welcoming and relaxed environment thus allowing clients to fully heal their bodies. Word of our "cutie pie" clinic spread fast and the community support was nothing short of amazing. We quickly became the go-to place for aches/pains, injuries, an hour of quiet time and on top of that we always knew you by your name and face, not just your file. In 2014, we added a second treatment room and two more Registered Massage Therapists. In 2015, we grew again adding another two Registered Massage Therapists. In 2016 we nearly jumped over the moon after purchasing our building and solidifying our space in the community and allowing for yet another expansion. We are now open seven days per week and offer direct billing for most insurance companies.

Merissa was born and raised in the Niagara area. After ten years of living state side and a rewarding career in the equine industry, Merissa made a life changing decision to pursue a career in Massage Therapy. This ultimately led her to London, Ontario where she graduated from the D'arcy Lane Massage Therapy program in 2011.
Properly helping others has been ingrained in the fabric of Merissa's existence as long as she can remember, so naturally she prides herself on going above and beyond for her clients. Merissa's passion for the profession comes through in her interactions with clients and in her treatments. She loves to connect with clients, creating a truly personalized session to reach each individual's goals. Whether she is helping to reintegrate mind with body, soothing chronic pain, or rehabilitating an injury, Merissa uses her considerable assessment and hands-on skills to provide the best care possible.
In her time away from the clinic Merissa is constantly striving towards slowing down the pace of everyday life. She enjoys time with her family, laughing continuously with her daughter, anything outdoors, meditation and hanging out with her horses.

Jennifer Gooch RMT
Jennifer has been a Massage Therapist since 2012 and graduated with Honours from Trillium College in St. Catharines and joined The White Birch team in December 2016. Previous to her career in Massage Therapy, Jennifer worked as a Pharmacy Technician and knew it was time for a change. This led her back to school to pursue a career that would better enable her to help others. A strong believer in continuing education, Jennifer has additional training in Deep Tissue Massage , Indie Head Massage, MyoFascial Release, Reflexology, PreNatal Massage and Cupping. Jennifer uses a spectrum of pressures and techniques, depending on the needs of the individual and their intention for their treatment. She works mostly with the skeletal and fascial systems, and incorporates Swedish massage for neurological and metabolic benefits. Jennifer works with the body’s pace, and takes time to allow for the body to correct itself. She encourages clients to be engaged in their own treatments, and finds each client’s internal knowledge to be a great asset in the process.
Jennifer's other passions include crafting and spending quality time with her family. We are so thankful to have her a part of the TWB team.

In December 2015, Leah walked through the front door of The White Birch and told Merissa she would be starting the following Monday. That is pretty much how things have gone from he get-go. Leah is generally the first face you see when you walk through our door, the voice on the other side of the telephone line and absolutely everything in between. She assists with insurance billing, booking appointments, yoga sign up and every other question. Leah is Merissa's right hand and lots of time her left as well. Basically to know Leah is to love Leah. With a previous career in the corporate world of banking and office cubical, Leah knew it was time to lighten up her stress (or so she thought) and jumped on board at The White Birch.
Her loyalty and commitment to our clinic has truly been such a gift. Without Leah we would have had a very hard time supporting the growth we have had in such a short time.
Beyond the 9-4, Leah is a passionate collector of mid-century modern furniture, has a wicked eye for unique fashion and loves a glass of JD on the rocks while flipping through a magazine. Her baking is to die for just don't ever ask her what's for dinner.
